NEW CAMERA: Nikon D5100

I've been wanting a new camera for a while now. It was the main thing on my Christmas list this year. I finally got it, a huge thanks to my boyfriend Dustin and my parents. I did a lot of research and decided on either the Nikon D90 or the Nikon D5100. I absolutely love all the features on my new D5100 and couldn't be happier! Here is a look at it and some of the pictures I've taken with it!

KND Photography | Indoor portraits

I'm taking my photography indoors! Little by little, I'm buying my own equiptment to start my own studio indoors. I have professional cotton muslin backdrops and I'm getting a more professional DSLR camera for Christmas. Next is getting good lighting equipment! I've done a few sessions already with the things I've gotten so far. I know it's not the best yet, but it will take some time. I'm learning on how to be more professional when taking pictures and hopefully in the next year or two I will have my own studio! I want to give a big thanks to the people that have supported me through this. I'm finally doing something I love to do and it means a lot to know that people like what I'm doing and want to see me pursue my dreams. Thanks :)

Sophia and Sydni | Sisters

A few weeks ago I got the pleasure of doing pictures of these two beautiful girls! Sophia and Sydni are sisters and are so cute! This was my second photo shoot of them and we all had a blast. The girls are super funny. The weather was kind of chilly and the girls were great sports and stuck with it! It was a lot of fun that day :-)

Family Traditions Around the Holidays

Seasons Greetings!! I hope everyone is having a great December! Filled with great Christmas cheer :-)
I love this time of year because I get to spend it with my great family and close friends! Hoping my grandmother is watching over all of us from up above. Christmas and New Years was one of her favorite Holidays. We always had a huge party at her house. It was a family tradition for adults to draw a name and get a special gift for that person (aka Secret Santa). We also would get together and dance around the kitchen every year around this time. I miss it and I always looked forward to that. I miss you Grandma! So question is, what is everyone's family tradition around this time of year?! (Answer in a comment if you want!). . .

POETRY | Friendship

I think everyone comes to a point in their life where they really find out who their true friends are. Who will be there for you through thick and thin. Who can keep secrets and not judge you. I know I've had a rough summer, rough year really. And there have only been a few true friends that have stuck by my side. I couldn't be more thankful for them! I found a few poems I have always really liked, some authors are unknown. But they really express my emotions I have towards my friends, true or not. And especially the one I call my Best Friend.

What I Owe You
This is a list
Of what to expect
From me to you
With love and respect
I owe you an ear
Cuz u would always pay attention
I owe you a shoulder
Cuz on yours lies my affection
I owe u a hand
You always helped out
I owe u advice
Of that there’s no doubt
I owe u respect
Of that your full
I owe trust
With my secrets you were cool
I owe you knowledge
You taught me so much
I owe you love
Deep in my heart, you touched
I owe you a friend
Who is honest and true
I owe you my life
Because of what you still do

I Have A Friend
I have a friend
Who is perfect for me
She listens to all my problems
No matter how dumb they may be

She likes herself for who she is
And never tries to change
She tells me to be myself
And that I should never change

She was shy on the phone
But she would still call
And we would talk for hours
About nothing at all

We would talk about love and life
And discuss what we wanted to be
She knew just how I felt
And how happy I could be

She listens to me patiently
But never judges what I do or say
She helped with all my problems
And never went away

I never once felt judged by her
How much that meant to me
That I could tell her all my dreams
And she would listen to me

My friend never goes and tells
What is dear to me
She keeps it all bottled up inside
And doesn't spread it like a bee

I am thankful for that friend of mine
Our friendship will never end
And she will always be there
For she is my best friend

Fake Friends
 Author: Krista Thomas
There’s liars, posers, freaks, and cheaters,
The world is only coming to the cold mistreaters,
I think its time that we need start acting real,
We hurt each other and don’t know how they feel,
People talk about other people behind their backs,
We don’t have true friends, we’ve ruined the trust we had,
They say these are supposed to be the best years,
But the next thing you know, someone is covered in tears,
You’re supposed to be real in front of people, not fake,
You’ll only have a few friends that are true, its give or take,
I’ve had plenty of people stab me in the back and it hurts to touch,
You think they are true, then they turn around on you so much,
So what are you going to do? Stay there and let them do it again?
I don’t think so, or why else would you call them your friend.
